The study examined the use of the modified Experiences of Teaching and Learning Questionnaire (ETLQ) in the Finnish context by focusing on its factor structures and comparing them with those for British data. A total of 2,509 Finnish and 2,710 British students completed the questionnaire. The comparison of the factor structures were conducted using exploratory structural equation modelling (ESEM) and a transformation analysis. Although the differences between the factor structures prevented a combined analysis, the structures were highly similar in the two contexts. The ETLQ appears to be a sufficiently robust and reliable instrument for use across countries and, in addition, at either the level of the degree subject or the single course module. 相似文献

ABSTRACTKnowledge of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) by health care, police, legal and social work professionals has been shown to be insufficient. This lack of competence is likely to affect the quality of services. The aim of this study was to describe SRHR indicators in educational programmes in health care, police, legal and social work higher education in Sweden. A text-based analysis was conducted of written material from all educational programmes in law, midwifery, nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, police work, psychology, social work and undergraduate medicine (93 educational programmes at 27 universities and university colleges). Representation of different SRHR indicators varied, but most were poorly covered in the educational programmes. Existing educational programmes lack comprehensiveness in their coverage of SRHR and are unequal both within and between the professions and universities. This situation creates the risk of inequalities in SRHR competence and suggests that needs within this field may be unmet. There is an urgent need therefore to enhance the presence of SRHR in health care, social work and law enforcement education in Sweden. 相似文献

ABSTRACTThe pyroclastic rocks belonging to the Late Eocene-Miocene volcanic activity that occurred in Sardinia between 38 and 15 Ma ago were widely used as construction materials in several Romanesque churches of the easternmost Logudoro area, as well as in large parts of the Sardinia territory. In this work, the ancient Cathedral of Nostra Signora di Castro (twelfth century) was taken as a representative case study. There is no historical or archaeological evidence of ancient quarries. Based on the geochemical, petrographic, and volcanological data on several samples from an extensive field area (approximately 150?km2), a geographical zoning of the volcanics has been recognised. In the Oschiri sector, there are three different sub-zones, which can be identified with different volcanic rocks: less fractionated rocks (Differentation Index ~70–78); intermediately fractionated rocks (D.I. ~76–79); and more fractionated rocks (D.I. ~77–82). To identify the origin of the ignimbrite rocks of the Church of Nostra Signora di Castro, two statistical methods were used: stepwise linear discriminant and canonical analysis. Moreover, to define the geochemical transformation processes induced by the alteration, a comparative study of concentrations of major and trace elements measured by XRF and SEM-EDX analyses on the surface portion and the innermost areas of the stone was made. 相似文献

Dimensions of organizational communication effectiveness have been described differently in the management, superior‐subordinate, and competence literature. This study compares previous findings to the results of interviews with 48 Northwest corporate administrators. The purpose of this paper is to investigate, through empirical analysis, whether or not post-graduate students choose information technology or other information sources such as home institution libraries for the purposes of learning, expanding their knowledge and/or completing their studies. A survey was conducted to gather primary source data for the paper. Questionnaires were administered to 211 education post-graduate students. Results showed that Greek post-graduate students from different fields of study chose the Internet as their primary information source for a number of reasons but mainly: for the provision of creditable and up-to-date information, for easy access to information at home, for the time of day they can access the material and for fast information retrieval. Although the Greek post-graduate students believed the Greek information network to be satisfactory up to a degree, this paper identifies that greater access to Internet resources, training programs providing students with tools to effectively use the network's resources and more online databases, combined with a historical and statistical database of libraries’ online catalogs are key issues in improving both information source performance and the link between strategy and implementation. 相似文献

Business faculty were surveyed to determine their attitudes toward institutional repositories, disciplinary repositories, and open access journals. The majority of faculty was unaware of institutional repositories at their local institutions. However, approximately one third are using disciplinary repositories and are receiving encouragement from their departments to do so. Likewise, many faculty are unaware of open access journals. Open access journals are seen as lacking prestige and being lower quality publications in the business field due to the lack of prestigious publishers and editors. ABSTRACTPublic Chef Intellectuals use restaurants as a topos to advocate for a more humane and sustainable food culture. They direct appetite both in the sense of creating delicious food and in the sense of articulating food politics. In a rhetorical analysis of Dan Barber’s experimental 2015 pop-up wastED, we find he employed three topoi in his rhetorical strategy to induce appetite: a glossary that situates his project within the context of our food system, a design that drew attention to the often-invisible nature of waste, and a plate that subverted expectations. These rhetorical places became material, interlocking arguments to help diners develop an appetite for what we now label as waste. wastED allowed Barber to create a space to reflect on what separates food from waste, prompting debate. 相似文献

This intervention study aimed at helping undergraduate students of psychology learn to use the discursive resources useful
to make academic voice visible in their texts and to improve their writing practices. The intervention involved tutorial meetings
and collaborative revisions in two different learning environments, on-line and face-to face. The final text quality, the
students’ knowledge and the amount and the quality of revisions were assessed in both conditions. Results show that the quality
of the texts improved for both intervention groups in contrast with for control group, and better texts were related with

Phonological awareness is a critical enabling skill in learning to read, often developed outside the context of formal reading
instruction. More than 2,000 6-year-old children were tested on phonological awareness at two occasions during the preschool
year in two cohorts. Between the assessments, a training program was implemented. A two-level path model was applied. More
frequent training sessions were connected to higher gains of test scores especially for children with low initial scores in
the first cohort. A clear gender effect was also observed. There were more boys with very low initial scores and more girls
among the top scorers. A clear SES-effect indicated the influence of early language stimulation. Children who already at the
beginning of the preschool year had grasped the alphabetic code had the highest initial scores on the test. 相似文献
